As the scent of osmanthus flowers fills the air, we welcomed the IKEA Blinds Headquarters for their second visit to JUNLIN this year. Each client visit is a valuable opportunity for us to showcase our relentless drive for excellence in blinds innovation. This time, we moved away from aggressive, all-encompassing marketing strategies, opting instead for a more refined, focused approach—reducing product categories while deepening product insights. With this precision marketing mindset, we concentrated on a select range of high-quality products. Despite having only one day, we successfully sparked strong interest among clients in our new concepts and product offerings.

Prior to the visit, we thoroughly planned each project and its timing to maximize meeting efficiency. One highlight was the Hornvallmo blind, a product IKEA highly favors and wishes to enhance. We organized a live demonstration of cutting and trial assembly of Hornvallmo, followed by a brainstorming session for improvement ideas. Many valuable suggestions from the client were collected on-site, forming a solid foundation for future product upgrades.

As one of IKEA's largest domestic blinds suppliers, we have led the development and testing of a standardized low-cost blind platform over the past 18 months. During the meeting, we shared test results and detailed product designs aimed at improving affordability without sacrificing quality, including practical enhancements to existing decelerator mechanisms. For mid-range blinds, we also presented a variety of samples for hands-on review, which received strong interest and inspired the client to suggest new ideas and explore further possibilities.

Innovation is the heart of product development, and in this visit, we introduced two new themes: a mini ultra-low-cost manual blind and a motorized blind. The manual version aligns with IKEA’s expectations for highly affordable blinds, replacing expensive components like aluminum tubes and fabric with plastic tubes and non-woven material, along with cost-effective yet reliable spring mechanisms. The motorized version showed how a simple replacement of the spring mechanism with a tubular motor could instantly transform a manual blind into an electric one. In terms of new design tools, we even showcased a conceptual tool for cutting blinds—along with a functional prototype—and conducted a live demonstration.
